What are we doing
As well as its role as a membership organisation and service provider, NSF (Scotland) is closely involved in a number of activities which promote greater wellbeing and quality of life for people affected by schizophrenia and other mental illness.

In January 2008 the Scottish Government set up an independent group to carry out a limited review of the 2003 Act. The group produced a report available on their website.
Carolyn Little, Chair of NSF (Scotland), was a member of the review group.

Green Paper 'Shaping the future of care together'
The UK governement issued a Green Paper entitled "Shaping the Future of Care Together", outlining some proposals for social care services in England.
Concerns have been expressed that the Green Paper makes reference to disability benefits, which of course relate also in the devolved administrations, including Scotland.
Along with other mental health organisations in Scotland, NSF (Scotland) is keeping an eye on developments and were co-signatories to a letter sent to the Westminster Governement. The letter highlighted the key issues identified for Scotland.
