CU Thru'

The project works with 16-30 year olds who have experienced mental health problems. The young person must want to use the service for his or her own development. We aim to offer easy access, choice, flexibility, confidentiality and a commitment to the involvement of the service users in deciding how services are provided.

The aim of the project is to increase the employability of the service user. This is achieved by short-term focused work in areas such as:

  • Confidence building
  • Developing relationships
  • Coping with Stress
  • Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Presentation and interview skills
  • Managing Stress
  • Organisational skills
  • A balanced lifestyle
  • Dealing with peer pressure

  • We use different methods of engagement to support our service users, some of which are:
  • One-to-one support
  • Personal development plans
  • Group work
  • Bringing in external specialists
  • Exploring choices
  • Support to set-up and maintain placements in training, voluntary work or paid employment
  • Making referrals to other agencies if appropriate

We accept referrals from a large number of agencies including: Community Mental Health Team, psychiatrists, social workers, voluntary organisations and self referrals. We work closely with referrers throughout the time of contact with the young person.
