Stewartry Resource Centre / Drop-in Service
This service is for adults coping with a mental health problem. We offer a safe place to socialise and find support amongst others in recovery from a mental illness. We believe everyone has the right to live as full a life as possible and decide through group planning meetings which trips, activities, crafts, meals out etc are to take place. We also encourage and support people to access the wider community. We take referrals from Community Mental Health Teams, other organisations, self referrals or from friends and family.
For an initial introduction please phone or email us, or just pop in during the drop-in opening times. If you prefer, we can meet with you elsewhere first.
Drop-in Opening Hours:
Monday: 12noon - 4pm Tuesday: 6pm - 9pm Friday: 12noon - 4pm
Stewartry Outreach / Housing Support
This service is one-to-one support at home to help you manage some aspect of your life a bit better. The Outreach Worker will come and visit you and listen to what it is you are looking for. We will work together with you towards whatever that may be.
Some examples of support people have needed are from a bit of company to helping find the motivation to keep up their shopping and housework, to getting a bit fitter by going walking or to the gym for example. We can also support you to deal with statutory and other organisations and services such as the Council, housing and benefit offices.
Stewartry Women's Group
Our Women's Group meets on Thursday's from 1pm - 4pm at the address above. The group benefits from peer support amongst others recovering from a mental health problem and allows the opportunity to take some time out to concentrate on your own needs. We take referrals from Community Mental Health Team's, other organisations, self referrals or from friends and family.
Please phone or email and ask for us to come to you for an initial introduction, or if you like, just pop in during the drop-in opening times stated above. We are located at the roundabout at the top of the town beside County Tyres Garage.
Young Persons Group This group is low key at the moment due to staffing, funding and core members moving on. However, if you are aged between 16-25, live in Stewartry and looking for something for yourself, we will be pleased to hear from you and will do our best by you. Please contact us and we will look at the possibilities.
